“Embrace confidence and develop your technique”
At Shana’s Dance Studio, we want to provide our dancers with a safe, warm and welcoming environment. We ask that the following policies please be followed:
- Hair must be pulled back and out of the eyes. Students should arrive for class with their hair already done. No necklaces or earrings.
- No gum, food, or candy in the dance studios.
- Bring a water bottle to class (we have a water cooler system)
- No street shoes in dance studios.
- Students are to arrive no more than 15 minutes prior to class and be picked up immediately after class.
- Children must wait in the studio for their ride.
- Parents may wait in designated waiting areas.
- Please no hanging on the ballet barre or touching the mirrors.
- Final class placement is at the discretion of the instructors.
- In case of bad weather, class cancellations will be announced by email and social media.
- Shana’s Dance Studio and its employees shall not be liable for any accidents or incidents on studio property or at studio events.
Classes and Dress Codes
- Tiny Tots: Young students are introduced to the basics of ballet and creative movement while improving their strength and coordination. Girls: pink tights, leotard, pink ballet shoes. Boys: T-shirt, shorts, black jazz shoes
- Ballet: Students receive the necessary training for classical and contemporary ballet movements. This is the foundation of all dance styles. Pink tights (Capezio 1916 Ballet Pink transition), black leotard, pink ballet shoes (Capezio Hanami canvas 2037C/W LPK) hair in a bun
- Pointe: Older students are eligible to take this class at the Studio’s discretion. Ballet is taken to a higher level through the art of dancing on pointe. Black leotard, pink tights, pink pointe shoes
- Lyrical/Contemporary: This class combines the skills and techniques of ballet and all types of jazz. Black leotard, black shorts, tan tights (Caramel Capezio 1961/C stirrup), tan turners (Capezio H064W LSN Hanami Turner)
- Jazz: Various styles of dance combining elements of ballet and jazz technique . Black leotard, black shorts, tan tights (Caramel Capezio 1961/C stirrup), tan turners (Capezio H064W Hanami Turner)
- Tap: Students are taught to coordinate steps with music and sounds. Black leotard with black shorts and tan tights (Caramel Capezio 1961/C stirrup), black Oxford full sole tap shoes
- Hip Hop: Students are taught street dance styles (t-shirt, shorts/sweat pants,
tennis shoes (clean non marking)
- Combo: These classes combine ballet and tap training for students. Pink tights, any color leotard (can have skirt), pink ballet shoes (Capezio Hanami canvas 2037C/W LPK and black tap shoes
- Broadway: Students incorporate acting skills and creative movement with dance. Black leotard, black shorts, tan tights (caramel Capezio 1961/C stirrup) tan turners (Capezio H064W LSN Hanami turner)
