Shana Flowerday, owner of Shana's Dance Studio is originally from Lakeville MN has had the dancing bug since she could crawl. Monique’s School of Dance introduced her to formal training at the age of five, and Shana ate-it-up. She went on to win “Dancer of the Year” two years running before shipping out to perform for Carnival Cruise Lines at the age of eighteen. Shana spent three years at Carnival and danced in many of their award-winning production shows including “Broadway”, “Café”, and “World”. Shana was also fortunate to work with world famous choreographers Joan Palentorpe and George Balanchine (Backstagedance.com) when she performed the premiers of “Generations”, and “Ticket to Ride” for the inaugural voyages of the Carnival Miracle. This experience led her to tour and perform internationally with Eminence recording artist: Alexander O’Neal, and to earn album credits performing live in London (Alexander O'Neal Live at Hammersmith Apollo). Shana and her husband, Fred, have a son, Jack, and a daughter, April.
Jessi Mosley began dancing at the age of 3. She was trained at Monique School of Dance in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, and was a member of the performance company. One of her favorite memories is dancing in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. While attending Burnsville High School, Jessi was a performer, a co-choreographer, and an assistant director for numerous musicals and plays. She was the vice-president of the theatre department her junior year and president of the theatre department her senior year.
Jessi attended college at UMD where she choreographed and danced in main stage dance concerts and was an active member of Attitudes Dance Association. Jessi had an internship teaching ballet at the university and took a mixture of technique, choreography and history classes to attain a dance minor to accompany her Bachelor's Degree in English and second minor in psychology. While living in Duluth, Jessi was the head coach for the Duluth Central Trojanette Dance Team for the 2004-2005 season.
Jessi coached the Eagan Wildcats Dance Team from 2007-2010 and choreographs for Burnsville High School theater. She began teaching at Shana's Dance Studio in 2009 and is thrilled to be back for another year!
Jessi is a paramedic for Allina Health EMS, the Aquatics Coordinator for ISD 191 and a paramedic for Emergency Medical Solutions at the Xcel and River Center.
Miss Jessica has always been a dancer, starting at the age of 3 in community education dance classes, and shortly thereafter, dancing at Monique’s school of dance until she graduated from high school. Miss Jessica was trained in ballet, tap, lyrical, and novelty dance. In high school Miss Jessica was also part of the dance team performing in state competitions in high kick and Jazz funk. After graduating from high school Miss Jessica attended college and obtained a Master’s degree in Elementary Education, with an emphasis on Behavior Management. Through out college she also joined the MN team of B-girl dancers, and trained in hip-hop, pop and lock, and break dance. Miss Jessica is still dancing in the adult class at Shana’s Dance Studio, and has been with the studio since it opened. Dance is just part of her soul and seeing the achievement and excitement of dance from her students is her favorite part of teaching dance. Currently, Miss Jessica lives in Burnsville with her significant other and 3 children, whom dance at Shana’s Dance Studio. When she is not dancing or teaching dance Miss Jessica enjoys, yoga, going on walks, watching movies and sleeping.
Miss Jennifer started dancing in a community education program when she was 3 years old. She was on her Jr. High dance line and was captain for 2 years. She also danced at Footsteps Dance Studio for a year before becoming a member of the Burnsville Blazettes Dance Team her Sophomore thru Senior years of high school.
Jennifer attended Winona State University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. She was a cheerleader at Winona State her freshman and sophomore years, and a member of the Winona State Dance Team her junior and senior years. She was able to compete at Nationals in Florida her Senior year for the first time in the school’s history, where the team finished in 13th place overall.
Jennifer took a few years off from dance after graduating college, but missed it terribly, and joined Shana’s Dance Studio in 2010. She is currently the Director of an Early Childhood Center in Eagan, and lives in Burnsville with 2 roommates.
Miss Holly is a very important part of the studio! She is our office manager, answers the phones, helps with questions, and is always there to greet you with a smile and a cup of coffee. She also does our alterations and other sewing. Miss Holly is here to take care of us all!
